DS125DF410: IBIS-AMI full link simulation

Part Number: DS125DF410
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DS100BR410

Tool/software:

Hi team,

I would like to simulate the behavior of DS125DF410 as a redriver, but the downloaded IBIS-AMI is divided into Rx and Tx models.

The Quick Start Guide states, 'Between these two schematics, the full link described in Figure 1 can be simulated and analyzed.' Does the equalized waveform obtained from the schematic ASIC_TX_to_DS1xxDF410 get passed to the schematic DS1xxDF410_to_ASIC_RX?

Best regards,

Naoki Yoneyama

  • Hi Naoki-san,

Yes that's correct, the equalized/retimed waveform output simulated in ASIC_TX_to_DS1xxDF410 is used as the input to DS1xxDF410_to_ASIC_RX. ASIC_TX_to_DS1xxDF410 should be simulated before DS1xxDF410_to_ASIC_RX.

Another small note, DS125DF410 is a retimer, which is different from a redriver because it includes DFE and CDR functional block. The following FAQ explains the difference between retimers and redrivers.

  • Hi Lucas,

Thank you for the helpful link. I was referring to it as a redriver because I was using it with the retiming function turned off.

Could you provide the IBIS-AMI model for the DS100BR410? I would like to confirm if it is suitable for my system, but I was unable to download it from the product page.

    Naoki

  • Hi Naoki,

I understand, thank you for the clarification. I'll share the DS100BR410 IBIS-AMI model with you via email.

    Best,

    Lucas
