TDP142: Swapping lanes for routing

Part Number: TDP142

Tool/software:

We are using the TDP142 DisplayPort Re-driver.  Does the TDP142 have to have  DisplayPort Lane 0 connected to TDP142 Lane 0  ?? ... DisplayPort Lane 1 connected to TDP142 Lane 1 ?? ... DisplayPort Lane 2 connected to TDP142 Lane 2 ??  and DisplayPort Lane 3 connected to TDP142 Lane 3 ??

It .would improve our routing if we could swap lanes 0 and 2. In other words ...

DisplayPort Lane        TDP142 Lane

         2                                0

         1                                1

         0                                2

         3                                3

  • Hi John,

Similar to this E2E, you can change the lane order connecting through the TDP142, but you need to keep the order consistent between your DP source/sink and DP connector. Essentially, if you swap the lane order on one side of the TDP142, you need to swap it back on the other side.

Additionally, you will need to disable AUX snooping if you plan to change the lane order. This can be done by pulling up the SNOOPENZ pin:

    Best,
