TCAN3404-Q1: TCAN3404-Q1 shdn modes.

Part Number: TCAN3404-Q1

Tool/software:

Hello, we are testing the TCAN3404-Q1 part and we are seeing results that do not match the datasheet information with regards to the Shutdown pin.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Normal mode, this is expected result
stb = 0 , shdn = 0
5.4mA

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Standby mode, this is expected result
stb = 1 , shdn = 0
9.5 uA

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Shutdown mode, this is UNEXPECTED - shutdown should be smaller
stb = 0 , shdn = 1
13uA

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Shutdown mode, this is UNEXPECTED - this is in the nano amps which is too low and i expect as per data sheet that shutdown mode is on irrelevant of the stb pin?
stb = 1, shdn = 1
100 nA ??????

 ,

What am I missing here?

These are the parts that we are testing.

  • Hi Radek,

    Yes, comparing shutdown and standby, the wake receiver is also disabled in shutdown mode - I.e., additional circuitry is disabled for the expected lower current.

    Hence, please help confirm the observation is consistent across multiple units, measured directly at VCC pin, and both SHDN / STB are not weakly biased by ensuring to pull directly to VCC or GND or using typical 10k ohms to confirm, thanks.

    Best Regards,

    Michael.
