Tool/software:
Hello,
The driver and receiver have separate power supplies.
Therefore, their grounds are isolated.
Will it operate if only OUT+/- and IN+/- are connected?
The distance is 1 meter, and a twisted pair wire is used.
I would like to know if it can be used like RS485.
Neither LVDS nor RS-485 allows isolated grounds. Receivers allow a certain amount of ground shift; see the common-mode voltage specfication. (It's usually larger for RS-485, but always limited.)
There are isolated LVDS and RS-485 transceivers. If you're using protocols designed for it, you can also use AC coupling.
