TMUXHS4446: Inquiry on USB Architecture Solution

Part Number: TMUXHS4446
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TUSB1146

Tool/software:

Hi TI,

We are in the process of planning our next-generation device and have encountered challenges with the USB architecture and configuration, which directly affect platform selection.

The SoC we have selected provides only a single USB 3.0 interface with support for Alt Mode (DisplayPort). Our goal is to split this single USB interface into three connectors with the following configuration:
  • Type-C (Port 1): Supports USB 3.0 and DisplayPort.
  • Type-C (Port 2): Supports USB 2.0 with OTG.
  • Type-A: Supports USB 2.0 with OTG.

Please review our initial block diagram and provide recommendations on the appropriate total solution for our design.

Any feedback is welcome.

Best,

Boris
