TCAN1043A-Q1: CAN interrupted

Part Number: TCAN1043A-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: THVD8000

Tool/software:

Hi,

One of my customers is using the THVD8000 transceivers and TCAN1043A device. However, when they are sending data constantly at 115200bps (transmitting over 32V power lines), the CAN does not work until they inserted a 10ms delay between transmissions to work reliably. They were wondering if there is anything else they can do to improve that? Thank you

I can also share schematic over email.

  • Hi Abigail,

This sounds like an interference issue. When THVD8000 is transmitting, the signal might be coupling onto the CANH/L lines and impeding communication. I would have the customer probe the CANH/L lines while THVD8000 is transmitting. I would also look into the cabling used and verify on the layout that the lines are routed properly.

    Best,

    Ethan
