DP83848C: Can I use a Gigabit ethernet(1000B-T) RJ45 connector(with magnetics) with it for connecting Fast ethernet(100B-TX)?

Part Number: DP83848C

Tool/software:

Hello Forum,

I am new in ethernet interfacing.

I am using DP83848C ethernet transceiver, which does not support gigabit ethernet. To connect this with external circuit I am using a Gigabit ethernet RJ45 connector JXD1-1V09NL, it has 4 differential pairs. while DP83848C has only 2 differential pairs TX and RX. So I have left other two pair of connector, not connected(NC) in schematic.

So I just want to confirm that, whether this will work or not.

I am attaching connector schematic for your reference.

Thankyou

Regards,

Ragini
