TRSF3232E VS MAX3232

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MAX3232, TRSF3232E

Hello,

I have a customer using MAX3232 (250kbps) and the design is at 115200 as the highest baudrate.

if they change from MAX3232 to TRSF3232E which is a high speed part, will this get a better signal quality?

thanks, Joy

  • Hello Joy,

The "F" means the slew rate of the driver is increased. This will sharpen the edges. However, there can be increased ringing and radiated noise.
If the problem is dull edges at remote receivers then the TRSF3232E will be an improvement.

The "E" in the suffix will improve the ESD performance.
