Hi TIA,
It doesn't quite work that way. There are no eUSB2 hubs though, so I would think configuring the eUSB2 repeater as a device should accomplish the same goal.
eUSB2 device -> eUSB2 repeater (device) -> USB 2.0 host

Hello Nicholas, thanks for quick response.
I am not sure I am following you. The question is if the TUSB2Exx can convert a regular USB2 host port into a eUSB2 host. The eUSB2 device cannot function as host, so the goal of having eUSB2 host out of regular USB2 host won't be accomplished.
As I believe, the repeater will translate regular USB/eUSB packets in any direction anyway. The question is, is there a function that would convert USB2 host reset and chirping functionality into proper eUSB2 states? I am not even sure if such function is defined in the eUSB2 specifications.
Looks like the answer to my question is: no, TUSB2E11 device cannot serve as a eUSB2 host. In this case, can you recommend any Texas Instrument MCU that has the eUSB2 host implemented natively?

Hi Alex,
My point was this. If you could use an eUSB2 repeater to create an eUSB2 host out of a USB 2.0 host, you would then have an eUSB2 host. That eUSB2 host would then only be able to communicate with one thing, a single eUSB2 device.
This would effectively be the same as Figure 5 shown below, but this mode it is referred to as the eUSB2 repeater being configured in peripheral (or device) mode. In this mode, there is "a function that would convert USB2 host reset and chirping functionality into proper eUSB2 states?"
Top Four Things to Know About eUSB2
I may have misunderstood your question though. No, an eUSB2 repeater is not a stand-alone host or device. There are few processors that implement an eUSB2 interface at the moment. We don't have it implemented in our MCUs, but maybe it will be released in the future.

Hello Nicholaus, thanks for the reference document.
Following this, the eUSB2 segment on the right side of Figure 5 will function as "eUSB2" host. Therefore, if I cut the right-side of Figure4 (eUSB2 from native eUSB2 host, and connect the lines , like this
The left repeater should be configured as "peripheral", and the right-side as "host". This should work, right? Can I use the TUSB2E22EVM-CAT dual-channel board to exercise the entire eUSB2 traffic then?

Hi Alex,
This is a common question, but no, and eUSB2 repeater cannot work this way. It is not designed to communicate to another repeater through eUSB2 according to the spec.
