TS3USB221: Issues in design with this part number

Part Number: TS3USB221

Tool/software:

Hi,

I have designed a device which takes 1 USB input and allow me to switch between two USB outputs.

The board i designed right now is not working at all.  It has only one problem at a moment as i connected the D+ line to D- line on the IC. Connections at the connectors are quite OK.

However for better routing I thought to connect D+ line to D- of IC and vice versa.

Do you guys think it will be an issue if D+ goes through D- line of IC ?

Stack up and impedance profile is OK as i have designed many boards based on same impedance profile of 90 ohms and everything works well in other designs. So diff impedance is not an issue at all.

Any help shall be appreciated.

Regards.

  • Hi Muhammad,

From what you are saying it looks like there isn't actually a problem with the TS3USB221. Instead the issue is actually combining the D+ and D- line.

It has only one problem at a moment as i connected the D+ line to D- line on the IC

From my research on the internet it looks as this can actually stop data from passing on USB2

My best suggestion is to disconnect D+ and D- from each other in your design( These 2 signals need to pass on two seperate lines)

Please let me know if you  need any further assistance

    Regards,

    Kameron
