Hi Team,

Samsung is going to use new RJ45 socket, which is inside transformer type (Pulse Electronics : JXD0-0001NL). and need your advice to use this.

our design guideline of datasheet say below but they can't add the 0.1uF cap to the transformer center tab of each difference communication pair and have to add the 0.1uF cap all at once due to new type RJ45.

Do you see any problems? it appears that the bias is simply applied to the VCC voltage to stabilize the differential communication level. 

if they is no concerned, Samsung will use new socket.

    Hi Joey,

    Yes, TI recommends to have separate center tap and decoupling capacitor for each channel. However, this magnetic has a high turn ratio (5%), but we recommend 2% ideally. So, this connector is not in the recommended requirement for our part.

    Hi J,

    According to them, they can meet 2% turn ratio but can't separate center tap. 

    is it not possible to use with our device? Please check it again.

    Hi Joey, 

    The team hasn't done any center tap combinations other than the datasheet's recommendation. Any difference from the recommended configuration puts validation responsibility on the customer. 

    The customer is welcome to explore if this RJ-45 connector can work for their case but the responsibility to validate for their use case falls on the customer.
