Hello team,

My customer has some questions about MDI compliance testing, pls see below description:

We use DP83TG720 and DP83TC812 in our HPC project.  DP83TG720 was used in former project, a tool named TI LaunchPad kit with MSP430 MCU was used to set chip into test mode for compliance test.

   Question:

  1. Is there any new tool for DP83TG720 MDI compliance testing?
  2. Whan kind of tool to support DP83TC812 MDI compliance testing?
  3. Is there any document to introduce register configuration of MDI test mode of two chips?

    Hi Daniel,

    The TI launchpad kit can be used to read and write registers, if external MDC/MDIO connection is made available on your board. This same tool can be used for all of our Ethernet PHYs, including DP83TC812 and DP83TG720. To enable test modes via register write, please see SNLA389 and SNLA371 table 4-1.
