Tool/software:

Hi

Please help review  design. I use four SATA redriver for U35(SATA storage) and CN14(SATA connector).

I have a placement question about AC-coupling at TX of host, the cap is place close to host, but in Intel PDG it is placed in device side(green circuit)

could you tell me which one is better?

Gino

  • Hi Gino,

I'll review and share feedback by end of day tomorrow, US time.

  • Hi Gino,

Your schematics generally look good, my one piece of feedback is please be careful with the layout of redriver bypass options. It is very important that high-speed traces do not include any branches to prevent impedance discontinuities. I recommend overlaying 0-ohm resistors with AC coupling capacitors to prevent branching.

I recommend places AC coupling close to the 600S on RX traces and close to the connector or connected device on TX traces.

    Best,

    Lucas
