DS90C385A: About pin mapping

Part Number: DS90C385A

Tool/software:

Hello,

I would like to ask about signal mapping of LVDS convert IC,DS90C385A.

About signal mapping on page 6 of datasheet,
the following description is written:
"Recommended pin to signal mapping. Customer may choose to define differently."

What is the meaning of "choose to define differently" ?

I think , the pin assign of control signals (HSYNC,VSYNC,EN,RES) could not be changed. ( fixed)

Do you have specific examples of different pin assignments?

Regards,
Hiroyasu Matsubara

  • Hi Hiroyasu,

The device serializes the TTL/CMOS inputs into the LVDS lines with one clock and four data lanes. And the device itself will serialize the data in the format shown in "Figure 11. 28 Parallel TTL Data Inputs Mapped to LVDS Outputs - DS90C385A"

With LVDS there is VESA and JIEDA formats, where there is a difference in RGB mapping to LVDS. You can find this in this app note below in the "3 Single Pixel per Clock Input Application" section's Figures 1 and 2. You will notice how the RGB bits are sequences differently but HS/VS/DE are same. You should map it according to the output display's requirement.
