TUSB211A: Chang from TUSB211 to TUSB211A

Part Number: TUSB211A
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TUSB211

Tool/software:

Hi All,

I was able to understand the difference between TUSB211 and TUSB211A from the following E2E:
https://e2e.ti.com/support/interface-group/interface/f/interface-forum/1290047/tusb211a-the-difference-of-different-device/4894330

When changing from TUSB211 to TUSB211A, the terminals and PKG are the same, so I think it is possible to replace them, but is there anything else I should be careful about?

Best Regards,
Ishiwata

  • Hi Ishiwata,

When going from the TUSB211 to the TUSB211A, the only pin that needs to be checked is the EQ pin. The recommended resistor value changes between the devices, so just ensure that the resistor youre using still selects the EQ setting you are looking for. That should be the only physical difference.

In terms of performance, the TUSB211A introduces DC Boost, pre-equalization for ISI jitter, and overall improved performance over the TUSB211.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

    Thanks,

    Ryan
