DS90UB662-Q1: Quad DES selection for Camera Aggregation

Part Number: DS90UB662-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DS90UB962-Q1

Tool/software:

Hi team,

Please could I ask for your help to select the correct device for a camera aggregation system.  The end customer is Iveco, where they have a requirement to be able to connect 4x camera as described.

The CDC shall support the following characteristics for the digital inputs:

- DES compatible with the 933 SER

- DES to support 1MP @ 60fps or 2MP @ 30fps for all digital inputs. Example 936, 954.

- As nice to have, DES with support for higher resolutions (2 or 3MP @ 60fps). Example 960, 9722.

- Format used from MY24 cameras is YUV422 10bits

Visteon are limited due to the number of CSI-2 interfaces on their SoC, so ideally using one 4-lane CSI interface for the DES.

Help with the calculations of the per-lane FPD rates, and thus the CSI aggregated data rate would be great to have.

BR, Ross

  • Hello Ross,

    1MP @ 60fps / 2MP @ 30fps = 1.38Gbps per camera. ==> for these 4 cameras you may use the DS90UB962-Q1 DES.

    3MP @ 60fps = 4.7Gbps per camera ==> x4 cameras = 18.8Gbps, which is not possible to be used with a DES with just 1x TX output port.
