DS90UB949-Q1EVM: Disable MSP430 without structural removal

Part Number: DS90UB949-Q1EVM

Tool/software:

Hi Ti-teams,

Our Android system included Android board + DS90UB949-Q1EVM + 948 + Touchscreen, but didn't need MCU MSP430.

Android board connected to DS90UB949-Q1EVM's J20 connector for I2C communication.

But MCU MSP430 in DS90UB949-Q1EVM seems to effect I2C communication.

So we want to disable the MSP430 without structural removal IC&RC.

Thanks for your supports.

  • Hello Huang,

On the 949 EVM, SDA and SCL of the DS90UB949 device is connected to the MSP430 through J23 (near the mini-USB port) and 0-ohm resistors R141 and R139 under and next to this header.

    • You may remove these resistors R141 and R139 and depopulate 5-6 and 7-8 of the J23 header to disconnect the 949 from the MSP430.

Please let me know if you need further support on this or feel free to check this thread as resolved if this answers your question!

    Best,

    Miguel
