TUSB1210-Q1: How to estimate maximum power consumption at typical and maximum temperatures

Part Number: TUSB1210-Q1

Tool/software:

Hello, I have a question about estimating the maximum current consumption for components, both at typical and heightened temperatures

I am currently designing a circuit that is required to operate at extended temperature range. The estimates range is between -10 and 50, but I would ideally like to design the circuit op operate at a range of -40C to 85C.
The TUSB1210-Q1 is one of the components I am considering using and would like to know the

Most other parameters in the datasheet specify that the given values are for the entire over operating free-air temperature range, but this does not seem to be the case for power consumption. Chapter 9.5 in the datasheet describes the power consumption depending on the use cases but also specifies that the values are based on measurements taken at its nominal operation condition. I can't find any additional importation about the maximum power consumption.

Specifically, for the TUSB1210-Q1:
-What is the maximum current consumption the component will use at 85C.

Generally:
Why are maximum current values for this and similar components rarely given in datasheets and what is the best way to estimate it?
-Is it recommended to ask the manufacturer for every individual component?
-Are there general rules of thumb that I an use for rough estimations?
- Does TI have any god application notes that I should read about this subject?

Thank you for your time,
I hope I hear from you soon,

Peter K

  • Hi Peter:

What is the maximum current consumption the component will use at 85C.

500ma should be good for supply  current.

Why are maximum current values for this and similar components rarely given in datasheets and what is the best way to estimate it?

Max current value could be different with different application or design, so we just  publish typical curentvalue.

s it recommended to ask the manufacturer for every individual component?

which component you are talking  about ? mainly concern is supply current.

Are there general rules of thumb that I an use for rough estimations?

Maybe15% higher at 85C than 25C, but there is no  general rules.

Does TI have any god application notes that I should read about this subject?

we have layout guidance SWCA124 for USB2 design.

    Best
