DS90UB960-Q1EVM: Connect DS90UB960-Q1EVM to reComputer J30

Part Number: DS90UB960-Q1EVM

Tool/software:

Hello, is it possible to connect DS90UB960-Q1EVM board to the reComputer J30. The board has 2 MIPI CSI Outputs. The J30 reComputer contains MIPI-CSI connector which is 22 pin. Is there a wire that can be used to connect both of these together ? the MIPI CSI output on the board is 40 pin

  • Hello Arseniy,

The DS90UB960-Q1EVM uses a 40-pin with the P/N QSH-020-01-H-D-DPA. Below are the connections to the connector.

I am not familiar with the reComputer J30, but if you can confirm that the reComputer J30 uses the same connector and the pins line-up, then you can cables such as:

    • HQDP-020-12.00-TTL-TTL-5-B

    • HQDP-020-40.00-TTL-TTL-5-B

Note that these are custom cable OPN from Samtec. You can try to find these cables in stock online, or different OPN with a shorter cable length, or you can order the part from Samtec.

  • TL-5-B

Hello, my reComputer J30 uses a 15 pin MIPI-CSI Camera Connector. Is there a connector that converts from 40 to this 15 or do i need to cut the end off of the HQDP-020-40.00-TTL-TTL-5-B and individually connect the correct wires to the J30 ?

  • Based on the image, it seems like the CSI-2 traces are routed to a connector that requires a flex cable. Similar to a Raspberry Pi, perhaps?

In that case, there is not a commercial cable that can connect the CSI-2 connector from the 960 EVM to the input on your reComputer J30 connector.

If reComputer does not offer any adapter boards, then your best bet it to develop a custom adapter PCB to bridge the CSI-2 connections between our 960 EVM and the reComputer system.

We do not recommend cutting the cable and doing hand soldering. This has a high chance of SI integrity issues on the CSI-2 data.
