SN65LVDS31: Termination question on unused buffers

Part Number: SN65LVDS31
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN55LVDS31

Tool/software:

To Whom it may concern:

Can you please advice on how to properly terminate unused buffers on a SN55LVDS31, SN65LVDT33D (differential transmitter/receiver, respectively) devices?

Thank you!

  • Hi Art,

Unused output pins can be left floating like the Y/Z pins on the SN55LVDS31. The Input A pins have an internal pull down resistor on the SN55LVDS31 so they are already biased low. This means you can leave it floating.

For SN65LVDT33D The A/B input signals have a fail safe feature so you can just leave those pins floating as well. Output Y pins can be left floating.
