THVD1450: IEC 61000-4-5 competence

Hi team,

Has this device been evaluated for IEC 61000-4-5?
In our circuit, the TVS diode suppresses the voltage to about 53.3V.
Simply based on IEC standards, a pulse of 53.3V with a width of about 50us is applied at least 12 times with an interval of 60 seconds or more.
Please let me know if the THVD1450 is resistant to this.

    THVD1450 is only rated and tested for IEC 61000-4-2 and 4-4, but not 4-5. We cannot guarantee anything outside what is specified in the datasheet. Normally I recommend ESDS552 as an external protection diode that protects up to 25A surge current. 

    Alternatively, if you are seeking an RS-485 transceiver with integrated surge protection, here is a filtered listed with IEC 61000 4-5 integrated transceivers:

    If you do not need the higher data rate, then I would look into THVD1449 which has integrated 15kV contact/air gap and 4kV surge protection.

    The THVD1450's ESD structure was not specifically validated for that voltage/timing, but it is possible that it will survive since it is at a lower voltage (~50V). Of course, it will need to be externally validated as repeated testing at that voltage may cause long-term damage that cannot be immediately seen. I know that's not the answer you were hoping for, but there is not much more information I can provide as we just don't have data for it.
