TIC12400-Q1: Wetting current accuracy

Part Number: TIC12400-Q1

Tool/software:

Hi Team,

A quick question.

According to the datasheet, 1mA wetting current range is 0.88mA~1mA, VS voltage is 4.5V~35V, temp range -40-125℃.

If the voltage range is 4.5V~16V, temp range is -40℃-85℃. Can we provide a more specific range for current accuracy?

Thanks

Best,

Frank

  • Hi Frank,

Unfortunately no, we don't have the ability to narrow down these wetting current specifications for different voltage and temperature ranges.

Generally speaking the lower supply voltage is the larger factor with the accuracy because the transistors in the current source circuit can become saturated and only allow a reduced amount of current to flow.  Therefore, a larger VS supply voltage allows the transistors to operate in the linear region and provide the correct amount of current to flow.  This is why the higher wetting current settings are not specified with a range down to 4.5V.  Also, taking the 5mA specification you will notice that they specify a low VS range of 4.5V and 5V and the tighter specification is when the min value of VS is 5V instead of 4.5V.

Operating the device at a voltage greater than the 4.5V min level will result in better accuracy.

    Regards,

    Jonathan
