My customer want use SN75DP159 to Retimer the 5.4Gpbs 1 lane eDP signal without AUX to improve signal performance.

Does our chip support eDP without AUX operation?

And for this 5.4G eDP signal do we have more options to improve signal integrity?

Hi,

Please note DP159 is not a true eDP/DP re-timer as it does not have the eDP/DP compliant TX Swing and Pre-emphasis level. I would recommend to use DP141 or DP142 re-driver if possible.

For DP142, Can I use this chip without AUX signal?

Because the signal source is no AUX signal. we only send video data and fix resolution.

Hi,

DP142 will work without AUX. If AUX not being used, please pull AUXP to GND through a 100k resistor and AUXN to 3.3V through a 100k resistor.
