Will the tpl9201 replace the tpic6b595

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPIC6B595, TPL9201, DRV8860

We are currently testing the tpic6b595 but the package size is too large. We need a smaller package such as the tpl9201. 12 VDC at 100 mA max. we are using two of these to drive 16 .5 watt resistors of different values for a resistive load sensing gauge. Will the tpl9201 replace the tpic6b595?

  • Hello,

You could use the TPL9201 to replace the tpic6b595. Additionally, the DRV8860 could be used in similar applications.

  • Perry,

TPL9201 has it's own internal voltage regulator so a higher voltage supply is needed for the VIN pin.
TPL9201 has no serial output so chaining devices is not possible.
