TIC12400-Q1: Current consumption under different polling time

Part Number: TIC12400-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TIC12400EVM-KIT

Tool/software:

Hello team,

May you specify the current consumption under the below different polling time? Or at least a current range? There is only value for tpolling=64ms in datasheet.

Regards,

Daniel Wang

  • Hi Daniel,

The polling mode current specification is an integral or average of all current flowing through the VS pin over one Polling Cycle.  Therefore it is not possible to specify the average current for all possible configurations, especially when there are different wetting current, comparator/ADC settings, number of enabled channels, etc.

Therefore, a calculation tool has been programmed into the TIC12400EVM GUI which you can download from the TIC12400EVM-KIT product folder (Link).  This GUI is free to download and it will run even without an EVM connected to the computer.

The Polling Mode Current Calculator portion of the GUI allows you to calculate the Polling Mode current for any possible device configuration of enabled INx pins, wetting current, comparator/ADC and open/closed switch status combinations.

    Regards,

    Jonathan
