DS250DF810: Would like to stop outputing signals until FPGA configuration is done.

Part Number: DS250DF810

Tool/software:

Hi team,

After DS250DF810 is turned on, does the TX of DS250DF810 output any signals including noise without RX doesn't receive any signals? If there are no signals on RX side of DS250DF810, would there be no signals on TX side of DS250DF810?

The reason why my customer asks this question is that FPGA which receives the signals from TX of DS250DF810 has a limitation. This FPGA doesn't allow any signals from other devices before the configuration of FPGA. This, My customer would like to stop providing any signals to FPGA until the configuration of FPGA is done. But there are no reset pins and enable pins on DS250DF810, so my customer is looking for how to achieve it.

Best regards,

Shunsuke Yamamoto

  • Hi Yamamoto-san,

By default the TX will be muted until the DS250DF810 acquires CDR lock to a signal on its RX.

If the customer is not sending a signal to DS250DF810 RX prior to configuring the FPGA, I don't think this is a concern for the customer.

Also, if the customer is configuring the DS250DF810 in SMBus slave mode, they can hold the READ_EN_N low to hold the device in reset.

    Thanks,

    Drew
