DP83822H: DP83822

Part Number: DP83822H

Tool/software:

I am integrating the DP83822 Ethernet PHY with a Renesas RX72N microcontroller on a custom board using the RMII interface. The PHY reset sequence is executed properly, and the RESET_N pin goes high as expected. However, I am unable to read any register values from the DP83822 using the MDIO/MDC interface

Hardware Details:

  • MCU: Renesas RX72N

  • PHY: Texas Instruments DP83822

  • Interface: RMII (Reference Clock: 25MHz Crystal)

  • Power Supply: 3.3V (Checked and stable)

  • Connections:

    • MDC (PHY) <-> MDC (RX72N)

    • MDIO (PHY) <-> MDIO (RX72N)

    • RESET_N (PHY) <-> MCU GPIO (Driven High after 10ms delay post-power-up)

  • Hi,

    Are you able to show the DP83822 schematic? I can check this to ensure there are no issues with your MDC/MDIO implementation.
