TCAN1044A-Q1: TCAN1044-Q1 bps

Part Number: TCAN1044A-Q1

Tool/software:

Hello,

When I test bps about TCAN1044 I found my test data couldn’t meet spec. The test data is all 2us about tBIT(BUS) tBIT(TXD) and tBIT(RXD).

May I ask whether test data is acceptable? And whether my test data abou tbit could convert to bit rate by calculation to meet customer requirement? If possible, could you tell me the calculation method and result?

  • Hi Chen,

    Bit rate = 1 / tBIT. Hence, 1 / 2 us is 500 000 bps.

Hence, if your target baud rate is 500 kbps, the 2 us tBIT is acceptable, thanks.

    Best Regards,

    Michael.

  • Hello Michael,

    Thank you for your reply.

And whether there's some wrong in the first sentence? I think you mean 2us is equal to 500 000bps by your formula.

And I have another question, why the data I test is different from the spec I show below? Or data in spec is just reference for tbit(bus) and tbit(rxd) when tbit(txd) is 500ns?

  • Hi Chen,

Yes, equal to 500 000 bps (500 Kbps).

And yes the data sheet numbers are measured or guaranteed under the specific test conditions as 500 ns implies data rate of 2 Mbps I.e., the data sheet spec is for a more stringent condition than the 500 Kbps, thanks.

    Best Regards,

    Michael.
