Hi,

My design has one connector that depending on the cable the pins change. One of those pins could have CAN_H or 24V (power), I read that the TCAN3414 can handle +-58V (but that would be transient) and +-30V in common mode. So technically if I connect the cable that has 24V by accident, the transceiver will survive. My question is, is this assumption correct, the transceiver will survive?

Hi Rebeca,

You are correct, the device will survive if within the abs max ratings. Further ensure if any CMC and ESD used are properly rated for 24 V as they can cause transients higher than the applied voltages depending on their ratings.
