DP83848Q-Q1: RMII clock pulse duty

Part Number: DP83848Q-Q1

Tool/software:

Dear Team,

My customer is using the DP83848Q-Q1.
CPU outputs the 50MHz clock to pin 28 (XI) of the DP83848Q-Q1 at present. RMII recognizes that data is synchronized by checking the riseof the clock, but if the duty ratio of the clock is broken (for example, low duty becomes extremely short), will it be established as communication?
If there is a specification regarding the pulse width of low, please let me know.

Best Regards,

Koshi Ninomiya

  • Hi Ninomiya-san,

We recommend the duty cycle to be between 40 and 60 percent.

This is the recommendation for 50 MHz Oscillator. We can consider the CPU clock output as an oscillator so the same recommendation applies.

    Best,

    J
