Hi,

I have some questions about 100B-T1 PHY and PoDL.

You already developed PoDL for DP83TC812S-Q1, which is TIDA-020060 reference EVB.

Did you have the experience of compliance test for TIDA-020060?

I think the inductor for PoDL causes the jitter problem. I want the tips for that.

If you passed the compliance test including podl, I would like to apply DP83TC812S for our project.

According to IEEE, we should do compliance test of Jitter, droop, power spectral density, return/modeconversion loss about PHY.

It is also called PMA testing.

I think the inductor is connected to MDI signal lines, that causes saging the signal, this means jitter problem.

If it is wrong, please tell me.

The TIDA020060 has a common mode choke on the MDI lines for Ethernet 1000BASE-T1 (ADF32T-800N).

A CMC could cause jitter if it is not a large enough inductor.

4.7μH +50,-30% at 100kHz

is the ADF32T-800N in the TIDA design

and

200 µH @ 100 kHz

is the DLW43MH201XK2L which is recommended for the 812

That is a pretty significant difference in inductance. Is the customer currently failing jitter compliance?

No, it is just for the DP83TC812. I will check internally if we have PMA compliance documentation with the TIDA.
