Tool/software:

Hi TI team,

For my automotive application,

Two USB type-C for Sink only operation
User can connect any One of the Type-C to Host PC and another to Power adapter.
System should be powered by Adapter supply when connected or with Host supply (with downgraded power requirement)

I understand that I may require USB HUB and Dual-PD controller as shown in below high level diagram:

Please let me know the suitable design and HUB, PD for above application (preferably Automotive grade). Feel free to ask any clarity if required further.

Yes Brian. Upstream port is connected to type-C port and hub downstream port is connected to SOC.

As shown in above diagram, In my application two USB Type-C ports are available. User may connect either one of them to Host. Another may or may not be connected to the Power supply.

LAN7801 is LAN to USB bridge from another vendor.

Can you please recommend the part number for the Dual-PD? Preferably automotive grade for our application.

If you need power over 15W ( 5v, 3A), then you need PD controller.

Thank you for you inputs Brian.

For dual-PD TPS25772DQRQLRQ1, application I see that It has one VIN with two Output port. If I understand correctly, that means input port should be dedicated to Power supply in and Port A & B works as output. Can I connect Port-A & B to Type-C connector and IN to Power management block in my application?

In my application, I would require two Input ports ( Host PC or Adapter or it can be both connected at a time) and one output port which will be used as supply to my device.

Which company for this project?--I couldn't get your question. Do you mean the project application?

Hi Nikunj:

This is dual PD application, IN is from Battery or power source. You may just need one type-C port, either connect to PC or charger.
