TLIN1431-Q1: Safety mechanisms to increase Single Point Fault Metric to > 90%

Part Number: TLIN1431-Q1

Tool/software:

For our system ASIL-B coverage an SPFM of 90% or higher is required, the results provided in the Safety Analysis Report seem insufficient.

Can you provide guidance which safety mechanisms described in the Manual can help to increase the SPFM?

  • Hi Isabel,

ASIL-B is a system dependent spec, that being said, with the functional safety manual the system designer might get a system rated ASIL-B, but it won't change the FIT rate of the individual chip. It won't help to increase the SPFM as the transceiver itself is not ASIL-B.
