Hi Art,

No, This device is designed around 5V typical operation. Using it at 3.3V would be using it outside of the recommended operating conditions and all of the electrical parameters will no longer apply.

The datasheet is a bit confusing since part was tested at 3V instead of 5V as the recommended voltage (see attached data sheet extract)

Can you please explain this?

Hi Art,

That looks like the input voltage to the pins, not Vcc.

Most of our RS485 devices support TTL which uses 0.8V as a low (ViL) and 2V as a high (ViH).

Does TI have a military grade equivalent to SN65C1168EMPWSEP using VCC = 3.3V or any military grade RS-422 transceiver using 3.3V VCC?

I don't think we have one that is dual channel.

I believe most of these devices will include a military temperature support.

One not included in the search above is THVD9491-SEP (new release) as well.
