Could you please confirm the above-mentioned CAN transceivers with partial networking is ASIL B complaint? If not, please suggest the CAN transceiver with partial networking with more than 48V bus voltage and ASIL B complaint components.

  • Hi Suba,

For our CAN transceivers like TCAN1145-Q1 and TCAN1465-Q1, they are not ASIL B rated chips by themselves, however since the ASIL B is system level dependent, you can get a system rated for ASIL B with the functional safety documentation located in the product folder for the device on TI.com.

I'll let our SBC expert to confirm the ASIL B device availability for TCAN28xx-Q1.

    Regards,

    Sean

  • Hi Suba,

It is the same answer as Sean gave for the other devices with the TCAN2855-Q1; the device  is not ASIL B rated - but since ASIL B is system level dependent these devices can be used in ASIL-B systems. We will have more functional safety information for this device (TCAN2855-Q1) in the product folder closer to or at devices release.

    Best,
