DS125BR111: IBIS/S-parameter provided files configuration

Part Number: DS125BR111

Tool/software:

I am trying to run a signal integrity analysis on my design that has DS125BR111.

I downloaded the 12G Linear EQ IBIS AMI model and found 2 s-parameter files for my device: WQFN24_rx.s4p and  WQFN24_tx.s4p.

I also found rxterm.s4p and txterm.s4p. What are these files for?

My signal integrity analysis setup is show below. Could you verify that I am using using WQFN24_rx.s4p and  WQFN24_tx.s4p as intended?

TX (my model) -> WQFN24_rx.s4p -> WQFN24_tx.s4p -> RX (my model)

Also, do you know if the default SMBus register values were used to capture the s-parameters for WQFN24_rx.s4p and  WQFN24_tx.s4p?

  • Hi Esteban,

    Please extract the example project included with the project and use this as a reference.  The WQFN files are s-parameter models of the device package.  The rxterm and txterm model the device RX and TX termination.

    The signal integrity analysis setup that you have included is not the intention for this model.  This model is intended to be used as an IBIS-AMI model.  Please see the example project.

    The WQFN24 s-parameter files are models for the device package.  These are independent of SMBus register values.

    Thanks,

    Drew
