TCAN1051HGV: Signal integrity analysis : Input level of TCAN

Hi,

I'm working on signal integrity for a CAN bus, and I'm looking for the VIH (Voltage Input High) and VIL (Voltage Input Low) values.

I found two different versions which may correspond to these values :

What's the difference between them?
Which one should I use for determining bus state ?

I've performed first simulation, and use picture (1) to find level ... Is it correct ot not ?

Hi Pierre,

VIH and VIL are thresholds recognized by the inputs for valid Highs and Lows.

For the bus state, please focus on the CAN outputs for VID I.e., capture CANH and CANL and observe their differences, VID = CANH - CANL.

VID > 900 mV where CANH is higher than CANL indicates dominant (logic 0) while VID < 500 mV where CANH and CANL are close to each other or where CANL is higher, is recessive (logic 1), thanks.

Could you also please point me to the section in the TCAN1055GHV datasheet that justifies the following statement?

“VID > 900 mV where CANH is higher than CANL indicates dominant (logic 0), while VID < 500 mV where CANH and CANL are close to each other, or where CANL is higher, is recessive (logic 1).”

V_IT+ is 900 mV. V_IT− is smaller because of the hysteresis.
