TCA9535: Looking for I²C Portexpander

Part Number: TCA9535

Tool/software:

Hi Team,

I am looking for a  I²C Portexpander with the following requirements:

  • 3.3V Supply
  • In total we need 16 Outputs and 4 Inputs (at the moment I would use two TCA9535)
  • High output current would be beneficial to drive the 7-Segments directly but not mandatory  (I also could add external driving FETs)
  • I²C (No SPI or other protocols)
  • Available for 10+ years if possible
  • Price sensitive
  • Volume is not yet clear (I need to ask the PM)

Thank you.

Kind regards,

Wouter Kragt

  • Wouter,

I think TCA6424A is your best solution here.

    • 3.3V Supply - 1.65V to 5.5V
    • In total we need 16 Outputs and 4 Inputs (at the moment I would use two TCA9535) - has 24
    • High output current would be beneficial to drive the 7-Segments directly but not mandatory  (I also could add external driving FETs) - can sink IOL = 25mA on Pxx pins
    • I²C (No SPI or other protocols) - I2C
    • Available for 10+ years if possible - 2010
    • Price sensitive - ask BU
    • Volume is not yet clear (I need to ask the PM) -

    Regards,

    Tyler
