TCA9617B: Operation of IIC Buffer

Part Number: TCA9617B
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: USB2ANY, LMH1218,

Tool/software:

I’m designing an I²C/SMBus interface where I use the TCA9617B to switch between an FPGA master (1.8V on the A-side) and a USB2ANY debugger that communicates with a slave (LMH1218) on the B-side (2.5V). In my design, when I want to use the debugger, I disable the I²C buffer (EN = 0), which I expect to put the A-side into high impedance so that the B-side behaves as a normal I²C bus with multiple devices.

My first question is:
Could you please confirm that when the TCA9617B is disabled (EN = 0), it fully isolates the A-side, allowing multiple devices on the B-side (e.g., the LMH1218 slave and the USB2ANY debugger) to operate on the bus without conflict or contention?

My second question is:
When the TCA9617B is disabled (EN = 0), does the device put its A-side into a high-impedance state such that the FPGA and any slave connected directly to the A-side continue to communicate without disruption?

Thank you for your assistance.
