Part Number: TUSB8041
Tool/software:
Hi everyone,
I'm designing a custom carrier board for the Raspberry Pi Compute Module 5 (CM5) and planning to integrate the Texas Instruments TUSB8041 USB 3.0 hub IC to expand USB connectivity (4 ports total). Before committing to the hardware, I’d like to confirm a few things regarding compatibility and design constraints:
Is TUSB8041 fully compatible with the CM5's USB 3.0 interface, both electrically and at the driver level? Does it work out-of-the-box with Raspberry Pi OS (or mainline Linux) without requiring additional drivers or DT (device tree) modifications?
Can anyone share reference designs, schematics, or projects where TUSB8041 was successfully used with CM4 or CM5?
Any insights, example device trees, dmesg outputs, or PCB layout tips would be greatly appreciated.
