ETHERNET-SW: TS3L301 is not working at Notebook(laptop).

Dear 

I am Jeyong Jeong. 

I have a question about TS3L301.

1. System diagram. 

2. Symptom

Normal: When the Earth (PE) is connected to the PC, the network is normal. 
 
Abnormal: When the Earth (PE) is not connected to the PC(laptop), the network is not work.

Normally, the laptop does not have PE connected, only LINE/NEUTRAL connected. 
I wonder if there is a solution for this case.

    Hi Jeyong

    Because this is more of a system design question I am not sure of the exact way .

    The multiplexer and the signals sent to it must be referenced to gnd 

    Please let me know if you have any additional questions about the TS3L301 as Ti recommends using this part as stated in the recommended operating conditions
