Hi team,

The customer is doing PCB testing applications, and they want to use the (EOM) function of this IC to measure whether the traces on the PCB meet the eye diagram spec.
They use two devices to measure the traces, and send a high-speed signal through one of them.
Use the EOM function at the other end of the trace to observe whether the signal is normal.

Is such an application possible?

Hi Jimmy,

Based on your description, it sounds like the customer is interested in using the EOM function of this IC for precise eye measurements used in compliance testing.

I would not recommend this device for precise eye measurements. This device gives rough eye measurements that are not suitable for compliance testing.

Hi Jimmy,

The eye monitor on the DS280DF810 or similar devices will produce a better eye than DS560DF410. With that said, these devices are not replacements for high speed scopes.

We don't have any products in our portfolio to replace high speed scope functionality.
