DP83TG720R-Q1: DP83TG720R-Q1

Part Number: DP83TG720R-Q1

Tool/software:

Hello Expert,

Base condition: the system not require remote wake up from ethernet, but require local wake up.

If disconnect INH between PHY and  power management module enable , while SOC is using IO control power management module enable. Does this support base condition requirement?

Does PHY IC enter normal mode successfully from sleep mode after remote wakeup is triggered?  same question for dp83tc812r also.

The step would be planed as below:

  1. Remote wakeup triggered;
  2. several second or minutes later;
  3. SOC IO set power management module enable PIN high;
  4. PHY goes into normal mode?

  • Hi Jing,

    It is currently a holiday in the US, so responses will be delayed. Please anticipate a reply on this inquiry early next week.

  • Hi Jing,

    Supplies must be cut off for 720 to enter sleep mode, and re-enabled once 720 is woken up. If you would like to use an SoC to enable the supply rails, this could theoretically be possible.

    What is the advantage of doing this over the recommended implementation?

    Thanks,

    David
