hi,

i want to add one circuit R and C for Switching diode protection so kindly guide me how to use and which value we have required Diode RC network (Snubber Circuit).

Hi Sarfaraj,

A better way to design to design RC snubber is to leave a placeholder for RC snubber. The RC snubber values are to be calculated experimentally. Please follow the steps for snubber design of LM5012 [steps for designing RC snubber across Diode would be same as if calculated across FET]

Power Tips: Calculate an R-C snubber in seven steps

Note that the C_snub*Vin^2*fsw losses will be dissipated in the R_snub, this will increase with input voltage and snubber capacitance. To avoid burning out the snubber resistor, it is therefore necessary to pay attention to the rated power of the resistor.
