LMH0307: Serial data complement output.

Part Number: LMH0307

Tool/software:

Dear Team,

My customer is looking at the LMH0307 for three HD-SDI/3G-SDI outputs.
The LMH0307 datasheet pin descriptions shows,

/SDO0 is Serial data output 0 complement output.
/SDO1 is Serial data output 1 complement output.

What is the complement output?
Is the input of thest complement outputs /SDI (Serial data complement input)?
Can they use /SDO0 and /SDO1 for HD-SDI/3G-SDI output as the same as SDO0 and SDO1 (Serial data true output)?

Best Regards,

Koshi Ninomiya

  • Hi Ninomiya-san,

Complement output is often used by serdes or fpga along with the true output as these use differential logic to process sdi signal and may treat the signal as a differential pair for better signal integrity and such.

It is not recommended to use the complement outputs as a separate output for a SDI application.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

    Best,

    J
