Does the output of DS90UB944 support a screen with a resolution of 3036 (RGB) * 1708?

    Hi switch,

    Please provide more details on your configuration and video settings for better support.

    Assuming the following video settings:

    • Using dual channel FPD-Link
    • Assuming no daisy-chaining
    • Active display = 3036 x 1708
    • Refresh rate = 60Hz
    • color resolution = 30-bit
    • Blanking = 15% of active display

    The calculation would be as follows to determine bandwidth:

    Pactive = 3036 * 1708

    Pblanking = 0.15 * Ptotal

    Ptotal = Pactive + Pblanking

    PCLK =  Ptotal * 60Hz = 357.8 MHz

    FPD datarate = PCLK * 30-bit color = 10.73Gbps

    In this scenario, the FPD data-rate falls within the bandwidth (13.5Gbps FPD-Link III with dual port config); therefore, the DS90UB944 would support the resolution.

    Please ensure you are using 5.4Gbps 4-lane DP at minimum to support given resolution. Refer to calculation below:
