DS90UB935-Q1: Back channel rate

Part Number: DS90UB935-Q1

Tool/software:

Hi Support team,

I'm member of PoC support team of TDK.

Our customer will use DS90UB935-Q1 as serializer in synchronous mode, and it will be connected to de-serializer for FPD-Link III / IV.

  • In this case, minimum back channel rate is 25Mbps? 50Mbps?
  • If the back channel is 25 Mbps (or 50Mbp), should the frequency range for the PCB S-parameter Limit line be referenced from 12.5 MHz (or 25MHz)?
  • If the PCB S-parameter limit line is satisfied, is it acceptable for the coil's inductance value to be less than 10 µH?

Best regards,

Takatoshi Ike

  • Hello Takatoshi,

In this case, minimum back channel rate is 25Mbps? 50Mbps?

    50Mbps for full-rate and 25Mbps for half-rate.

If the back channel is 25 Mbps (or 50Mbp), should the frequency range for the PCB S-parameter Limit line be referenced from 12.5 MHz (or 25MHz)?

The PCB S-parameters should start at half of the rate. If using half-rate (25Mbps) your start frequency must be half of that, i.e. 12.5MHz. For full-rate 25MHz.

If the PCB S-parameter limit line is satisfied, is it acceptable for the coil's inductance value to be less than 10 µH?

Yes, that should be okay as long S-parameters of PCB as well as total channel (as per our channel specifications) are satisfied.
