TPD2E2U06: Part Used for 1000 BASE T1 Ethernet

Hi Team,

We have used TPD2E2U06DRLR TVS Diode for our Single Pair Ethernet 1000 Base -T1 Application.

We observed that, when done IPERF Test from our Custom board( With TVS Diode at Connector) to Laptop , the bandwidth is unstable and not as expected.

We suspected that the TVS Diode is the problem and removed that diode from Board and started IPERF Again from Board to Laptop, this time the bandwidth as Expected.

Can TI Confirm whether this TVS Diode TPD2E2U06DRLR is suitable for 1000 Base T1(Single Pair Ethernet) Application? is that diode causing any degrading of the 1000 BASE T1 Signals?

    Hi Pavan,

    TPD2E2U06 has low enough capacitance to support 1000 Base-T1 speeds, perhaps excessive losses could be attributed to PCB layout.

    Do you have any waveforms with and without the TVS diode to show the difference in bandwidth?
