PCA9306: PCA9306, Is it okay to use Vref1 2.8V and Vref2 3.3V for PCA9306?

Hi,

I saw the datasheet that has recommended SCH with 1.8v as Vref1, 3.3v as Vref2..

also found that

VREF2 must be between VREF1 + 0.6 V to 5.5 V in datasheet P5, 6.3 Recommended Operating Conditions

I was wondering the following may not be okay.

2.8v as Vref1, and 3.3v as Vref2?

Am I right?

0.5 V is less than 0.6 V, so this is not OK.

For a slow protocol like I²C, this does not matter.

Hi JIE,

In level translation mode, VREF1 = 2.8V while VREF2 = 3.3V will not fall into the recommended operating range and therefore the electrical characteristics might not accurate. I.e. prop delays will be affected.

Even with VREF1 = 2.8V and VREF2 = 3.3V, the device should still function properly.
