Hi,

I have started working on optical fiber communication for UAVs for video and data transmission and reception.

We are working on BOSA type connector which has WDM with 1310nm and 1550nm wavelengths, Transmission and reception is being done on one fiber cable.

Please suggest how to proceed and is there any module or IC support already available on ti that can be used directly to build that environment.

BOSA is mainly for single fiber with Bi-Directional Transmission

Hi Anmol,

My understanding of that BOSA is that from an electrical perspective, it should be similar to using separate TOSA and ROSA. I found this article helpful.

I would propose looking at ONET1130EC. This device handles TX and RX.

using separate tosa and rosa does not solve my problem as i have to use two separate optic fiber cable for tx and rx as per my understanding.

Hi Anmol,

I think there is a misunderstanding. Looking at BOSA diagram in the link I previously shared, it appears that the electrical components are the same and TOSA and ROSA. There is a laser diode and a photodetector. The BOSA sub-assembly is responsible for integrating RX and TX into a single fiber on the optical domain, but in the electrical domain, there is separate RX/TX. I would propose using ONET1130EC for the electrical interface.
